The Bengal Tiger situated at the corner of City Road and Montague Street in South Melbourne is the old favourite, for Indian food lovers in the area. Once a popular pub - The Nelson Hotel, was converted to a restaurant and has housed The Bengal Tiger for 17 years. Opened in October, 1982 it is the oldest Indian restaurant in the area.
